2010 K-9 Winter Games
Come enjoy a day of fun with family and friends while we celebrate Train Your Dog Month and Jess's birthday at the National Guard Armory in Pipestone MN.
K-9 Winter Game Events Include:
K-9 Musical Chairs: Just like playing musical chairs with a twist. Competitors will walk with their dogs around the chairs until the music stops. When the music stop competitors will put their dogs in a sit-stay and find a chair. The person left without a chair is out. The game continues until one dog/handler team is left.
Woof Relay: This game is for a team of 3 dogs and 3 handlers. Each team is given 5 minutes to get each dog to bark 5 times for a total of 15 barks. Team with the fastest time wins.
Doggy Dash: Two dogs will compete against each other in a race to the finish line, winner goes on to the next round.
Kong Cup Challenge: In the Kong Cup Challenge the handler stands inside a square and instructs the dog to fetch various toys. Each toy is worth a different number of points with a bonus doubler toy and a penalty toy. Team with the highest score wins.
Recall Relay: This relay race is for one dog and four handlers. Dogs will race between the handlers when called and perform a quick obedience routine before being called to the next handler. Team with the fastest time wins.
Training Demonstrations: Jess will do a few live training demonstrations. Spots for demo dogs are limited so be sure to sign up early.
Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third place in all events.
We will also be having a light lunch and birthday cake. All proceeds from this event will go to Second Chance Rescue in Sioux Falls.
